I have not found someone to buy and take over my business. We built a new home in Denver over a year ago. In the spring of 2024 we will put our home here in WI up for sale. If no one buys my business by then I will put most everything in a storage unit for the time being. Certainly this will greatly impact the Fiero crowd but I will be over 67 and my wife and I want to enjoy some retirement in our life time.

Shift and Select Cable Repair Kits

A common problem with older shift and select cables is that the cable is still in good condition but the plastic end pops off the ball stud. This is a simple repair kit to remedy that problem.
To install this repair kit you will need to drill out the end and go completely through the plastic end. A correct size drill bit is included. The new end is then installed as shown. Remove your old ball stud and reinstall this fixed and your plastic end will never come off again.

There are two sizes of ball studs used on the Pontiac Fiero. Small and large. The small is generally used on all but the V-6 4 speed shift cable. The V-6 4 speed shift cables generally have the large diameter ball stud. Please check and see what size ball stud you have before ordering. The small ball stud is about 10mm (3/8") while the large ball stud is about 12.5 mm - 13 mm (1/2"). Please see drawing below on how to measure the diameter of the ball stud on your transmission cable end.

Measure the diameter of the ball with the plastic cable end pulled off.

Proper Measurement

Size note:    The small diamter ball stud is the most common. The only cable I have seen that has the large diameter ball stud is the 4 speed shift cable.  If you have both the large and small diameter and you want to repair both you would need both kits. If you have both large or both small you also need two kits but I will delete one drill bit and reduce the price of both kits.

SHIPPING NOTE:

I do not offer free shipping.

Because I use postal flat rate boxes for heavy orders there is no program that can add the proper amount of shipping to every order. So all shipping is added manually by myself after you place your order. That is explained here: Shipping added later explanation

When you place an order the shipping amount will show $0.00. Soon after you place an order you will receive an email confirmation that shows the amount of shipping that was added to your order.

Shipping:   Shipping is $8.50  (Midwest-USA)

Final shipping cost is determined by weight of the item(s) and distance from Milwaukee, WI. Shipping prices quoted are for items shipped to the Midwest area in the USA. If you are ordering a single item or multiple items the total shipping price is determined after you place the order. I try to keep my shipping prices to a minimum and use Postal Flat Rate boxes whenever I can utilize them for an order.
