There seem to be no Fiero directional switches out there.

1985-1988.

From what I have heard the switch from like a 88 Firebird is the same but the wiring harness is a bit longer. So just get one for a 88 Firebird. I think it fits all year Fiero's. Hopefully some will let me know about that and I'll add this to my web page here.  Probably any GM car from 1988 will interchange.

 

 

 

 

For the 1984:

 

I just had to find a Fiero directional switch not too long ago. There are 2 different styles on top of tilt/ non tilt,  delay, non delay. As you can imagine 84 Fiero's are different from the rest. All 84 cars have the different number of wires for delay and non delay. 85 and up have the same number of wires for delay and non delay. The good news is 84 Fieros share the wiper system with jeeps, bad news if you need the control box for delay wipers. The control box for them is no longer made. If you want to go to delay from non delay you need the control box and a delay switch everything plugs in and you are golden. 85 + cars you just need the wiper switch as the delay is controlled by the wiper motor.  Now what is important, is you need to just match the pins on the connector and number and color of the wires.

 

I went from non tilt / no delay wipers, to tilt / no delay. The only new one I could find was for a g20 step van. They were asking 150$ for it but it did seem to work when tested with a volt meter, but the price was more than the price of a used column.  I found an 84 Cavalier nos part on ebay for 25 bucks and took a shot in the dark if it would work. It works perfectly; it's just about 2 inches too long. I can confirm if the pins are in the same location and the colors are the same the switch will work. Fieros have the shortest of all the saginaw steering columns and the shortest of all the wiring.

 

Great news is most of the saginaw steering columns for GM, Jeep, some Dodges are almost the same. The differences are tilt, straight, and length with column shift. and last telescoping. Inside there are two different bearing sets. The tilt parts are very similar, along with the arms for the directional cams. Trust me it's an interesting rabbit hole to fall down. Most fiero's being close to 40 years old should be getting the column rebuilt. The only place I could find any info about column parts was: This place. Some of his prices are outrageous to the point I went to a junkyard and pulled parts. He seems knowledgeable about the hardware but was not able to point me anywhere on the switch.

Most parts are still out there and there are some repair kits available for cheaper than what the linked column rebuilder sells them for.
