Repair kits for the under car coolant tubes

A somewhat common problem is the under car coolant tubes rust out under the clamps that hold them to the chassis. They rust thru enough and start to drip antifreeze.

There is not enough room to slide a rubber hose over this rusted area and put the clamp back on. There is just enough room to add a thin stainless steel patch like this.

These are 304 stainless steel patches. Remove the coolant tube(s) and have these patches TIG welded over the rusted area(s).

On the 88 Fiero removing the long coolant tube(s) is not too hard to do.

On the 84-87 it is a lot of work to pull the long coolant tubes out because they go up and over the front suspension. My suggestion is to cut the tube(s) just behind the front wheels (remove the front wheel wells) and use my coolant tube hose repair kit. There is a long enough straight section of coolant pipe there. Cut the coolant tube(s) and remove the rearward section of the coolant tube(s) leaving the front coolant tube section in place. Have these patches welded in. Use the HD coolant tube hose kit when you put the coolant tube(s) back in.

HD coolant tube repair hose kit:

Install the HD rubber hose piece and the HD stainless steel clamps on one tube and push them back out of the way. Insert the stainless steel internal coupling tube. There is a small ring in the center of the coupling tube piece so it will only go in half way. Drill and install the stainless steel pop rivets.

Make a mark on the tube showing where the end of the hose should be to center it over the cut. Move the hose over the cut and tighten the HD stainless steel T-bolt hose clamps. The correct amount to tighten the clamps is to where the band depresses the hose enough to be even with the surface of the hose.

Commercial grade HD hose is used in these kits.

There are 2 lengths for the stainless steel patches. Short for the front (2 1/2" ~ 62 mm) and long for the rear (6 3/4" ~ 171 mm).

These may be used to repair other damaged areas. If you need them for other damaged areas send me some pictures and I may stock some at different lengths.

SHIPPING NOTE:

I do not offer free shipping.

Because I use postal flat rate boxes for heavy orders there is no program that can add the proper amount of shipping to every order. So all shipping is added manually by myself after you place your order. That is explained here: Shipping added later explanation

When you place an order the shipping amount will show $0.00. Soon after you place an order you will receive an email confirmation that shows the amount of shipping that was added to your order.

Shipping:

Shipping is $5.50 - $8.50 USA

Shipping out of the USA is $18.25 or more depending on what country.

Final shipping cost is determined by weight of the item(s) and distance from Milwaukee, WI. Shipping prices quoted are for items shipped to the Midwest area in the USA. If you are ordering a single item or multiple items the total shipping price is determined after you place the order. I try to keep my shipping prices to a minimum and use Postal Flat Rate boxes whenever I can utilize them for an order.
