Also:

I'm also looking to sell some or all of my "in house" manufactured parts that I make in my shop to someone who might be like me and likes making things. This is one of those products. To buy my business is a large endeavor. But if you work a full time job or are retired and want to take on my manufactured parts or some of my manufactured parts let me know.

A nice sideline for an ambitious person.

This kit will fix any Fiero bent clutch pedal problems.

Once installed your clutch pedal will be stronger than a new pedal!

History: Many years ago Ed Parks told me that the clutch pedal on a Fiero never gets bent out of shape. He said even the 1984 aluminum pedals. The part of the clutch pedal that gets bent is the steel U bracket that is riveted to the clutch pedal.

If your clutch pedal is bent in the U area you can remove it from your Fiero and using a vice and large pipe wrench or a large adjustable wrench etc you can bend it back into the correct shape. It is really quite easy to bend. I can see why they bend out of shape. The one problem with bending it back into the correct shape is it weakens the steel some and everytime you do it it weakens the steel even more.

This kit will make any Fiero clutch pedal stronger than new.  You will, using a workbench vice and a large adjustable, pipe wrench etc, bend the U piece of the clutch pedal back into the original shape. It is not hard to do. Once you have bent the U bracket back to it's original shape you then weld in my repair pieces.

With the  U piece of the clutch pedal now bent back into the correct shape you will weld in the rebuild kit. TIG is best but it can be done with a wire welder. Once this kit is installed your clutch pedal will be very, very HD and should never get bent out of shape ever again.

NOTE: Works in the aluminum clutch pedals but will not be as strong as when this kit is installed it in a steel clutch pedal. When installed in a steel clutch pedal you can weld the U bracket to the steel pedal arm.

This is the common way a typical Fiero clutch pedal gets bent out of shape:

Clamp it in a workbench vice:

I used a pipe wrench. Bend it back to the original shape as shown below. It is not hard to bend.

Grab it like this.  Make it parallel to the arm below.  Grab it like this.  Make it square like this.

Your pedal should now be like it was when it was new. Some slight miss shape is OK. Close is good enough.

Set the new steel piece on the peddle as shown below and tack weld it in place:

Weld it as shown below:

To make it easier to weld it to the arm to the U bracket use the round pin included in the kit:

As long as I had my welder going I decided to weld the arms together some. Probably not necessary but I felt it would make the clutch pedal even more HD.

A note of caution: I also welded around the tube. I found you should not weld around the tube. When the tube cools it shrinks some and the plastic bushings will not fit back in the tube.

Do not weld any higher than what is shown in the picture above.

These pictures show the new steel piece will not hit any of the brackets etc:

If you have an early style clutch pedal with the two step pin this might be a good time to upgrade to the later style small pin:
