V-6 Exhaust Manifold Welding Jig

Do you have an exhaust manifold that is cracked?

Do you want to weld up the outside of the flanges so you can port the inside to make more HP?

To help keep your exhaust manifolds from warping when welded it is suggested you bolt them to the cylinder heads when welding. This is difficult for most because most do not have their cylinders heads off.

Made from one inch thick 1018 cold rolled steel. I talked to a friend who has a fabrication/welding shop and has many years experience. I wanted to make them out of 3/4" thick. He suggested to be safe I should make them out of one inch but they would weigh 16 pounds! So I did. The cost difference between 3/4" and 1" is not that much.

Includes 6 grade 8 button head bolts, 6 nuts and 12 washers   It is one inch thick and very HD!

Using button head bolts allows the most room to do the welding.   Use an Allen head wrench to hold the button head bolts while you tighten the hex nuts. If you are welding the flanges to the pipes you would not use the washers on this side.

Tip; On my 88 I had one flange to the crossover break free from the header.  You should add some weld to the other side of the flanges. You should also add some weld to the hex nuts. Tap these nuts before installing the crossover.
