My business is for sale:

I have not found anyone to take over my business. So:

We built a home in Denver. A 55+ community. We have had it for two years now. We go there for a week every two months or so. But we are not happy there. The lot size is minuscule and I only have a smallish 3 car garage. So we are selling it and looking for a different home in the Denver area. An existing home. We do not want to go thru a new build again. We both want a larger yard and most important is I want more garage space. All my life I have been a garage person and I like to make things etc. Ideally we will find a home where I can add on to the existing garage or put in an additional garage. So my plan now is to take my business to Denver.   But: I am not making much of anything anymore in my shop here. I am also not restocking many items. You may have noticed some of my parts are out of stock now. That trend will continue. Once in Denver I will probably just sell out my existing stock and as I run out of things discontinue them. Hopefully this all happens in 2024. Once we start moving out of our home here in Wi there will be a few/several months when I will not be able to sell anything.

6 speed cables

This is the Getrag select cable. Many use them for 6 speed applications. One for shift and one for select. A select cable is not as strong as a shift cable. Using a select cable for a shift cable means you will have a shorter service life.

Features:

  • Black sheathing just like OEM.
  • OEM style heavy duty insulation.

You will need to reuse your original rubber firewall grommet. To remove it from your old cable take a razor knife and cut in to it up the old cable sheathing (halfway into the rubber grommet). Reinstall the rubber firewall grommet on the new cable.

Cable lengths:    6 speed shift or Select cable is about 74" overall

6 speed (F40/F43 Etc.) swap note: Many use 2 of my Getrag select cables for the 6 speed swaps. One for shift and one for select.  I change the transmission ends so they fit on to the shifting lever ball studs of the 6 speeds.

The ball stud end on the cable is removed and the new end (middle piece) is installed. This new end piece has an internal ring and pushes on to the ball stud on your shift/select arms.

Also note: If you use a Getrag select cable as a shift cable it is not as strong as a shift cable and will not hold up as well as a shift cable depending on how hard you like to shift. No gaurantee on cables used on 6 speed applications. How you make your brackets and stuff is also a factor in how long they hold up. Also see the Isuzu shift cable note below.

Price is per cable. If you need one cable for select and one cable for shift order 2 cables. They will both be the same.

Update: Someone has found the Isuzu shift cable works well as a shift cable for the F40's. It is about the right length. Use the drop down box below to order. It will have the end installed to go over the ball stud on the transmission shifting arm.

Price of the Isuzu 6 speed shift cable with the cup end is $119.99.

SHIPPING NOTE:

I do not offer free shipping.

Because I use postal flat rate boxes for heavy orders there is no program that can add the proper amount of shipping to every order. So all shipping is added manually by myself after you place your order. That is explained here: Shipping added later explanation

When you place an order the shipping amount will show $0.00. Soon after you place an order you will receive an email confirmation that shows the amount of shipping that was added to your order.

Shipping:   Shipping is $12.00  (Midwest-USA)

Final shipping cost is determined by weight of the item(s) and distance from Milwaukee, WI. Shipping prices quoted are for items shipped to the Midwest area in the USA. If you are ordering a single item or multiple items the total shipping price is determined after you place the order. I try to keep my shipping prices to a minimum and use Postal Flat Rate boxes whenever I can utilize them for an order.
