Weld In Cradle Nut Plates

Also:

I'm also looking to sell some or all of my "in house" manufactured parts that I make in my shop to someone who might be like me and likes making things. This is one of those products. To buy my business is a large endeavor. But if you work a full time job or are retired and want to take on my manufactured parts or some of my manufactured parts let me know.

A nice sideline for an ambitious person.

Weld in rear cradle nuts

This kit replaces the failure prone GM rear frame engine cradle nuts. The factory floating nuts are held in place with thin steel cages that tend to rust and fail leaving the floating nuts loose to spin. Some choose to weld in the factory cradle nuts when they break loose. The OEM cradle nuts may be rusted beyond use. These replace the factory cradle nuts if you choose to weld in your cradle nuts.  I also offer a full floating style cradle nut kit.

Tools needed: A high speed air or electric die grinder with a thin cut off wheel. Welder to weld these nuts in and to reweld the flaps once these have been installed.

Note on welding the flaps: I talked to Ed parks at the Fiero Factory in Alabama. He told me they do not weld the flaps. They just bend them back up. The frame in that area already has openings in the frame. The best way is to weld the flaps once you install the floating cradle nuts but welding them closed is optional according to Ed Parks. I would suggest welding them closed.

Rear cradle nut kit:

Fully internally threaded. Deformed self locking nut just like the factory original.

Zinc plated. Although the zinc plating will degrade on the lower plate where you weld the zinc plating will easily remain in the upper threaded area.

SHIPPING NOTE:

I do not offer free shipping.

Because I use postal flat rate boxes for heavy orders there is no program that can add the proper amount of shipping to every order. So all shipping is added manually by myself after you place your order. That is explained here: Shipping added later explanation

When you place an order the shipping amount will show $0.00. Soon after you place an order you will receive an email confirmation that shows the amount of shipping that was added to your order.

Shipping is $11.50  (USA)

These fit into a small postal flat rate box. Final shipping cost is determined by weight of the item(s) and distance from Milwaukee, WI. Shipping prices quoted are for items shipped to the Midwest area in the USA. If you are ordering a single item or multiple items the total shipping price is determined after you place the order. I try to keep my shipping prices to a minimum and use Postal Flat Rate boxes whenever I can utilize them for an order.
