This product line is for sale. If someone wants to take this gas tank product line from me I am willing to sell the tank dies and all related gas tank items. Gas tank straps, T bolts, sending units. Be the Fiero gas tank king!
This IMO is an excellent opportunity to do a nice side business if you work full time or are retired.
A Mr. Andrew Phillips did a video installing it in a 1986 Fiero.

I do disagree on using the 84-86 cross brace and flipping it over. It hangs much lower. To be safe please use a 87/88 cross brace or buy my reproduction 87/88 cross brace. UPDATE: I am seeing some 86 Fieros that have the late style cross brace from the factory. Maybe they did a mid year change. I believe now in this video that he does have the late cross brace.
My experience putting the large tank into a 84-86 Fiero:
I heklped a Fiero owner install a 87/88 gas tank in to a 86 Fiero GT. What we found: Basically it goes in but is kind of tight. We found you can not use the 4 clamps on the sides that hold the A/C and heater core tubes. We hammered the little upper tabs in on the bracket that these clamps attach to on the chassis. It may or may not have been necessary to do this. We pulled these four tubes downward some to get the tank up and in place. Once the tank is in place we installed the cross brace and used a few wood shims on top of the cross brace to push it upwards some. We then hand bent the straps to get them across the tank. I had to remove some of the bend at the end of the straps where the hole for the T bolt is. I used a plyers to pull the T bolts downwrds. We had to also use a pry bar to push the tank over to get the T bolts to move down. We also used the prybar to move the tank over to get the T bolt thru the strap. Once the nut is on and you tighten the nuts it goes in fine. We left the tubes in place. They really have no place to go. You could put a few large HD tie wraps on them if you like.
Some tips on how to install these tanks. If anyone has any other tips send them to me and I'll add them to this page.
Anti-squeak pieces.
Use contact cement to glue them in place.
Lay the black pieces in place and put a line around them with a marker. Coat both the tank and the black pieces with contact cement. Let it dry for several minutes and put them in place.
On bending the straps to fit. I considered prebending the straps but when hanging down the straps would interfer with putting the tank in. So put them in the brackets and let them hang down.
Also put in the T bolts and let them hang down.
Some might use a floor jack to hold the tank in place. You can also put in the cross brace and shim the tank tight to the top of the tunnel to hold it up so you can work on the straps.
Bent the straps as much as you can:
You will find this is not enough of a bend. Put something like a piece of wood in place so you can bend the straps more:
Do the same to the other side with the T bolts. Bend it first against the tank then use something like a piece of wood to bend it slightly more to fit.
To get the straps to lay flat on the tank in the middle put a slight curve on it like this:
NOTE: I have seen where the straps (after bending) want to push the gas tank towards the passenger side. When you bend the straps you need to bend them in a way that when you flip them over the tank they do not push the tank towards the passenger side. Take the time to work the straps so they fit nicely and do not push the tank towards the passnenger side.
