9-10-24:  I am still in business and this item is still in stock.

Kit contains Hard Anodized Aluminum gear, 3 precision machined Delrin bushings, side gasket and excellent rebuilding instructions.

  • Each kit will do ONE headlight motor.

  • No Rivets to drill out! All parts held together with bolts and screws. EASY disassembly
  • Side gasket included.

  • CNC machined Hard Anodized Aluminum gear.

NOTE: Gear failures appear to be rare in the 1987-1992 Firebird headlight motors. I have seen some C4 Corvettes were the gear is stripped or broken. Generally all you need is the torque pins and side gaskets. Click here to see these torque pins and gaskets.

These gear kits include the side gasket(s). If you would also like the motor gaskets select both side and motor gaskets in the drop down boxes below. Generally I would suggest that you not take the motors off the housing unless you want to go thru the motrors or paint the parts etc. You do not need to take the motors off to rebuild these.

Thinking about those plastic aftermarket gears? They are low quality and do not last very long:

Small ball bearing used in these headlight motors note:

At the end of the amrature shaft, under the adjustable end play screw, is a small ball bearing. Be careful if you take the motor apart. It is very easy to loose. When putting the headlight motor back together the best way is to put a small amount of grease on the end of the shaft and put the ball bearing in the grease. That holds it in place and also provides it with some lubrication.

If you loose one I have some on hand.  $2.00 each.

Because I use postal flat rate boxes for heavy orders there is no program that can add the proper amount of shipping to every order. So all shipping is added manually by myself after you place your order. That is explained here: Shipping added later explanation

When you place an order the shipping amount will show $0.00. Soon after you place an order you will receive an email confirmation that shows the amount of shipping that was added to your order.
