Before this switch my 2.8 didn't really overheat (even in Alabama), mainly because the A/C was probably always on and causing the fan to turn on with it. However I thought it was insane the coolant fan never triggered during my commutes, seems the thermostat, water pump and other coolant components had to do all the work. Now I drive with the T-Tops off and at long stops I hear the fan turn on every once in a while and I don't feel the need to tap the A/C just to cool the engine.
