So the car had an aftermarket select cable installed when I got it, it was always tight. So when it blew out from the heat and bend of the overly long cable, I was non-too surprised but I figure it lasted a while, I would go for the cheaper easier solution and pick up another at my local part store. It lasted a week and the heat DESTROYED it. I finally learned my lesson and bought the Rodney cable; I figure its worth the extra $20 for the heat shielding along. Not only is this cable 10 times smoother, it is the proper length with has good heat-shielding to protect it. Prefect replacement cable MADE FOR THE FIERO, not for the least common denominator of GM cars.
