I got new select and shift cables, along with the 5 speed rebuild kit and select arm rebuild kit. For the full review of all the parts in concert, check out my review on the 5 speed shifter rebuild kit.
Much better design than stock cables with boots covering the ends. Shifting is smooth now and the shifter returns to the neutral position on its own. My previous cables were routed wrong by a previous owner and had heat damage. These new cables work great and appear to be top quality. The only complaint I have is that one end of one of the boots was secured using a zip tie instead of crimps. I see why as this particular end is a different diameter than the other places the boots were crimped, but at $90+ I would like to see a proper crimp instead of a zip tie. I like how most of rodneys parts are metal and should last forever, like the solid metal sway bar end links, the 5 speed shifter rebuild kit, and the select arm rebuild kit. I intend to keep this vehicle longer than it has already existed, and I don't feel like rebuilding all of the things I am now again in 20-30 years. So again, at $90+ dollars per cable, I'd like to see a metal crimp instead of a zip tie. Still rating 5 stars because of how well these work. On a more precise scale, i'd give these 4.9 stars out of 5, only because of the zip tie.
