See my review in the Headlight Motor Gear Kit.
Bottom line. I ordered these last year (September). I had intermittent issues with the RIGHT motor not opening which was also the one that failed due to a stripped gear. Coincidence? Don't know. I rebuilt BOTH motor at least 5 or so years ago...maybe longer. The headlights have functioned great....but there will be a glitch and the RIGHT one will not open. I can use the manual override and loosen it less than 1/4 turn and it works.
Have been swapping out bumpers and have used up all the original OEM bumpers. I had ordered some bumpers from Brand X in FL, but they were too small and not the proper material or Durometer. This is widely posted.
The past weekend BOTH of them decided to protest the OLD bumpers and laid down on me. I put in all new bumpers. Can NOT really figure out WHY Chevy has THREE bumpers for the opening "stop" and only ONE for the closing. However, that sucker takes a licking every time it closes.
SO far....great. I have cycled them many times. I HOPE this solves the issues. Regardless, the Original OEM Bumpers are HARD and BRITTLE and SPLIT. So, they are history. Will order some spares later on if these work as I expect.
Rodney had been great in working with folks like me. WORD TO THE WISE. You can NOT see the BACK or BOTTOM bumper without peering in from the side under the headlight. I KNEW it was there...finally saw it and had to install by feel.
You CAN install ALL the bumpers without removing the assembly. I actually got a small brass hammer in the cavity and tapped the bottom bumpers to make sure they were seated.
THANKS to the R man for his help.
