This kit is to rebuild the shifter assembly that is in the center console. Includes oilite bushings (Getrag) to replace the original plastic bushings, or for the Isuzu shifter industrial type high quality plastic bushings. A new select shaft and brass round piece that replaces the round ball and several shims. This will make your Getrag shifter assembly like new or even better than new. To determine which Pontiac Fiero 5 speed shifter you have read this:	This is a Getrag shifter assembly. The main difference between the Isuzu and the Getrag is the center pivot area. You will notice on this Getrag shifter assembly that the cross bolt is encased in a large diameter tube that is welded in place. The Isuzu shifter has a smaller tube and it is not welded in place.

This is the Getrag shifter. It has a larger diamter tube and this tube is welded in place. This larger diameter tube rotates when you move the shifter left and right.	This is the Isuzu shifter. It has a smaller diameter tube that is not welded in place. This smaller diameter tube stays in place and does not rotate when you move the shifter left to right.

The late 86-88 V-6 5 speed Fiero has a Getrag transmission.
The 85-88 4 cylinder 5 speed Fiero has a Isuzu transmission.

Note: Most 1988 4 cylinder Fieros with the Isuzu 5 speeds appear to have come from the factory with the Getrag type 5 speed shifter. Please verify which shifter assembly you have in your Fiero before ordering.

Please read before ordering:
In some cases a previous owner may have changed the shifter assembly in your Fiero. I have seen some where it appears they came from the factory with the incorrect shifter. You can not just assume that you have a Getrag shifter if you have a V-6 5 speed or an Isuzu shifter if you have a L4 and a 5 speed. In 99% of the cars I have sold these for the shifter matches the transmission. To be sure you are ordering the correct kit please take a minute and pull the console top off and look and compare it to the picture above.  The kits are different and will not interchange.

I try to keep my shipping prices to a minimum and use Postal Flat Rate boxes whenever I can utilize them for an order.

 Shipping to areas outside of the USA: Generally I ship postal air first class mail. Shipping varies depending on what country they are going to. It ranges from $11.50 to Canada to $17 or more to Australia etc.
