Easy To Install Catalytic Converter Kit with 409 stainless steel extensions and 304 stainless steel clamps
Fits all V-6 and L4 engines
The original GM factory exhaust system on the Fiero is made from 409 stainless steel. It will surface rust but lasts a very very long time. The original factory GM catalytic converter is very restrictive and a nice horsepower gain is achieved when it is replaced by a freer flowing aftermarket unit.
There are a few problems when replacing the factory catalytic converter. The original converter is welded to the inlet and outlet exhaust pipes. If you saw off the converter you end up with a double layer for the new converter set up to go over.
Important note:
The "other problem is the original converter is very long and after market converters are much shorter. In most cases 2 short extensions are used to make up that difference.
Unfortunately these extensions are usually made from mild steel pipe which will rust away in a somewhat short period of time.
The overall length end to end is 21 1/2"
Fits all V-6 and L4 exhaust systems

All Stainless Steel Catalytic Converter Kit
|
My replacement catalytic converter kit for OEM exhaust systems remedies these problems. I start with a high flow 409 stainless steel 2 1/4" in/out catalytic converter. I then add an extension to the inlet and outlet which is expanded to go over the 2 layer OEM exhaust pipes where the old converter was removed. These extensions are welded on making the kit very solid. These extensions are 409 stainless steel.

(Old Factory Cat. Converter)
This converter is not approved for sale to California or New York addresses.
Want to use your aftermarket converter:
I do have plenty of the 409 stainless steel extensions on hand. If you want to buy a standard 2 1/4" aftermarket converter and weld on my extensions.
These extensions are available here: Converter extension page
SHIPPING NOTE:
I do not offer free shipping.
Because I use postal flat rate boxes for heavy orders there is no program that can add the proper amount of shipping to every order. So all shipping is added manually by myself after you place your order. That is explained here: Shipping added later explanation
When you place an order the shipping amount will show $0.00. Soon after you place an order you will receive an email confirmation that shows the amount of shipping that was added to your order.
Shipping:
Shipping is approx. $18.00. (Midwest-USA) I usually ship these converter kits USPS standard post to keep the shipping rate lower.
Final shipping cost is determined by weight of the item(s) and distance from Milwaukee, WI. Shipping prices quoted are for items shipped to the Midwest area in the USA. If you are ordering a single item or multiple items the total shipping price is determined after you place the order. I try to keep my shipping prices to a minimum and use Postal Flat Rate boxes whenever I can utilize them for an order.
